1.Two households, both alike in dignity,
-Two families, The Montagues and the Capulets are equal. They were both high class families and they were very much the same.

-The setting of the scene is in the town of Verona..

-From the ancient time the Montague and the Capulet are separated.
4.Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
-Where people are guilty of killing their own neighbour.
5.From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
-Children from each side of family.
6.A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
-Romeo and Juliet will die at the end for their loves.
7.Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
-During the story, they are separated by their parents.
8.Do with their death bury their parents' strife.
-Romeo and Juliet's parents have forgotten their feud because of their deaths.
9.The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love,
-This story will end up with their suicide.
10.And the continuance of their parents' rage,
-And the continuing of their parents' fighting.
11.Which, but their children's end, naught could remove,
-Their ends,could remove.
12.Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage;
-The play takes 2 hour.
13.The which if you with patient ears attend,
-If you pay attention, and listen carefully.
14.What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.
-You'll understand as you watch the play.
